RML Group has finalised the appointment of three core technical roles, across its Power and Engineering divisions. The new team members include a new division head and two team leaders joining us at our Wellingborough-based HQ.
Newly appointed Head of Powertrain, Denis Gorman joins after seven years as Head of Batteries and High Voltage Systems at EV specialists FutureMotiv. Denis’ extensive expertise in electrified powertrains – with previous stints at Jaguar Land Rover and Ford – will continue RML Group’s pioneering work in powertrain development, both internal combustion and electric.
Denis will play an instrumental part in the continued development of RML’s VarEVolt battery solutions, which as a high power density pack received Conformity of Production (CoP) approval from the Vehicle Certification Agency (VCA) last summer. VarEVolt is RML Group’s scalable battery architecture, which can be tailored to the requirements of each project, focusing on energy density, power and charging times where best suited.
Rohin Titmarsh and Manuel Tordillo have joined as Team Leads in Test & Validation and Mechanical Design respectively. Rohin’s specialism is in electrified powertrains, having joined RML Group from Hyperbat as Battery Systems and Test Manager. Prior to that, he gained experience working at Sprint Power, University of Warwick and Tata Technologies.
Manuel’s considerable experience includes almost 20 years at Hewland Engineering, and then eight years at Williams Advanced Engineering – becoming Fortescue Zero in that time – leading teams in design engineering and transmission design. Both new appointments strengthen their respective teams, coming in as senior figures to drive growth in Power and Engineering divisions, as RML Group undertakes additional projects for clients in a variety of sectors.
Commenting on these appointments, Mark Way, CTO at RML Group, said: “The continued and accelerating growth of RML Group means that a larger and stronger team is required to continue our delivery of exceptional engineering services to customers.
“By bringing in Denis, Rohin and Manuel, we have added a wealth of experience and technical expertise across our divisions. Their appointments continue RML Group’s expansion, helping steer company divisions during a crucial time in our growth; I’m delighted to welcome them on board.”
